Roots Inducted in Philadelphia Music Walk Of Fame

The Roots long career as a collective has done Philly and the world proud. The group is now slated to be inducted into the Philadelphia Music Walk of Fame.

The group will be inducted alongside Billie Holiday, Ray Benson, the band Cinderella, the disco group The Tramps, Broadway performer Andrea McArdle and radio personality Harvey Holiday. There is a gala event held for the honorees after the ceremony.

The announcement coincided with the group’s 8th annual Roots Picnic, which took place Saturday, May 30th at the Festival Pier in Philadelphia.

The Grammy Award winning band has released 11 studio albums since 1993. There also the house band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and previously Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
